Lady Warrior Soccer Starts New

The Lady Warrior Girl’s Soccer Team begins the season with a new Head Coach Jesus Davila.

With the first allowable practice of the 2023 season, the Lady Warriors began at the Worland Middle School Gymnasium.

The weather was a factor with snow still covering the practice field, the Lady Warriors took to indoors to start the season.

Last season the Lady Warriors finished with the Consolation Championship with a win over Buffalo in the State Tournament in Cheyenne.

2022 WHSAA State 3A/4A Girls Soccer Championship 3A Girls

Overall Worland was 10-8 and 6-6 in the 3A West Conference.

This season Worland will switch to the East Conference with Buffalo, Douglas, Newcastle, Rawlins, Torrington, and the Lady Warriors.

Worland will play a home-and-home schedule against the East Conference.

The Lady Warriors will return 5 Seniors to this season’s team Peyton Erlenbaugh, Carley Venable, Reece Sanford, Alysha Mendenhall, and Brenna Argeris.

Also returning will be All-Conference and All-State Forward Junior Rivers Carell.

Juniors Emma Hunt, and Nayelli Aguayo as full-time starters from last season.

Missed will be Junior Starting Forward Yahaira Aguayo with an injury.

Junior Jasmin Espinoza, and Sophomore MacKenzie Ray who saw starts last season.

Along with Kinlynn Brown as a major minutes contributor.

Returning this season is Junior Taylor Simmons, and a Freshman class that will round out the team.

30 plus girls came out for the team this year, strong numbers that should produce a strong team.
